#98- Fostering Children - And interview with foster parents Rishi and Lisa
Wednesday Aug 17, 2022
Wednesday Aug 17, 2022
On this episode of A Brothers' Creed Podcast we interview Rishi and Lisa Desai who have been fostering children for for about 2 years now. The need for good parents to temporarily care for displaced children has never been higher. There are nearly 400k children in the U.S. in the foster system every year. Lisa and Rishi passionately discuss how they got into fostering, and what the initial onboarding and approval stages look like. We pepper them with questions about how placements are made, how placements are determined, how involved the foster parents need to be with the court process, and many more questions. Lisa's passion for this subject and love for all children really shine through in the way she talks about the good she has seen come of even little actions to uplift these children. Rishi explains the challenges that can arise when a child is confused, angry, or upset about his/her situation. As a foster parent you want to protect the child as much as possible from the dark truth of the situation without being untruthful in your explanation. Ultimately we round out the episode by talking about the many different ways people can become involved with helping children in need.
I cannot help but think of Mathew 25:40 after this conversation:
".... Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me."
Helping the most innocent and helpless of gods children among us is a noble work indeed.

#90 - Military Blunders- Failed military campaigns and government efforts
Wednesday Jun 22, 2022
Wednesday Jun 22, 2022
On this Episode of A Brother’s Creed podcast we talk about some of the most epic failures in military and government history. We start off by chatting about the awful U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan and how these types of governmental failures are not new to history. Jared shares the tragic story of Napoleon’s Russian Campaign to Moscow which cost him nearly 500 thousand troops. Ethan talks about the failed Fast and Furious ATF program that knowingly allowed Mexican Cartels to acquire semi-automatic rifles in the U.S. illegally. Ethan also tells the story of Barry Seal – who was a U.S. government informant who flew drugs into the U.S. for the Medellin Cartel in the 1980s. Like in our own lives, governments, generals, and presidents make mistakes- These mistakes however have a high cost to those affected.
